Games on the Go: Free Car Games for Every Family Road Trip

If you’ve ever heard “are we there yet?” for the tenth time before you’ve even left the motorway, this one’s for you.

We’ve just launched Games on the Go — a free tool that sorts through a bank of car games and gives you ones that work for exactly how many people are in your car. No apps to download, no screens to hand over. Just proper family games to play together while you drive.

How it works

It couldn’t be simpler:

1. Tap how many people are in the car (2 to 7, driver included)
2. Get an instant list of games that work for that number
3. Tap “How to play” on any game for the rules
4. Stuck for ideas? Tap “New prompt” on games like Would You Rather, Never Have I Ever, or Team Trivia and it’ll give you a ready-made one to use
5. Can’t decide? Hit Randomise and let it pick for you

It’s built for passengers, not drivers — so get everyone else in the car involved and keep your eyes on the road.

What’s in it

There are 25 games covering all kinds of journeys and ages, from simple ones like I Spy and Animal Sounds, to proper thinking games like 20 Questions and Team Trivia. A few favourites:

• Odd One Out — we’ve made this one properly tricky. The obvious answer is often the wrong one, and every round comes with an explanation once you reveal it
• Car Cricket — score runs by spotting car colours, but watch out for the police car
• The Prime Minister’s Cat — a classic alphabet game with a British twist
